Project Overview

The Chenab Rail Bridge, a marvel of engineering, stands as a testament to India's infrastructural prowess. Located between Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, this steel and concrete arch bridge supports a single-track railway line. Its impressive height of 359 meters (1,178 feet) above the Chenab River earns it the title of the world's highest rail bridge and the highest arch bridge.

Constructed between the Sangaldan and Reasi Railway Stations, the bridge significantly enhances connectivity in the region. The project's complexity demanded innovative construction techniques and rigorous safety measures, ensuring stability and durability against harsh environmental conditions.
