Project Overview

On November 11, 2022, ITC inaugurated a state-of-the-art spices plant in Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh. The 'Make in India' facility was opened by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alongside Mr. Sanjiv Puri, Chairman of ITC Limited, and other dignitaries. This modern plant represents a significant investment in the local economy, aiming to strengthen ITC's footprint across agriculture, manufacturing, and services in the state.

During the inauguration, Mr. Puri showcased ITC's extensive presence in Andhra Pradesh through exhibition panels and a virtual tour of the global spices processing facility. He highlighted the plant's alignment with ITC's commitment to sustainability and local development. The facility's 360-degree initiatives are designed to support enhanced farmer incomes, empower women, and promote renewable energy use.

The new plant features advanced processing lines for turmeric, chilli, and blended spices, producing over 15 organic varieties. This will bolster ITC's global food exports and ensure stringent quality assurance from farm to market. The facility will support over 5,500 farmer families and generate more than 2,200 livelihoods, with a significant portion of the workforce being women, thus fostering community growth and economic inclusion.
