Project Overview
The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) is the primary planning and development authority for the metropolitan area of Cochin. Established to oversee the structured growth of this bustling region, GCDA's jurisdiction extends over the Cochin City, which is recognized as the commercial capital of Kerala.
GCDA's purview includes not only the Kochi corporation but also nine surrounding municipalities and 21 intervening panchayats. This expansive reach ensures that development is consistent and well-coordinated across diverse localities, enhancing the overall urban environment.
Covering an area of 632 square kilometers, the GCDA's efforts are crucial in managing Cochin's rapid growth and urbanization. Their strategic planning supports sustainable development, making Cochin a thriving metropolitan hub.
